Just wanted to remind you all that it’s still Adopt-A-Dog Month, so if you’ve been considering adding a new pet to your family, there’s no better time than now. Canine quota filled? Adopt a cat in honor of a dog, then! Why not?
This is a re-post, but I’ve altered it a bit to fit the month…
If you want someone who will eat whatever you put in front of him and never say it’s not quite as good as his mother made it…
Then adopt a dog.
If you want someone always willing to go out, at any hour, for as long as and wherever you want…
Then adopt a dog.
If you want someone who will never touch the remote, doesn’t care about football, and can sit next to you as you watch romantic movies…
Then adopt a dog.
If you want someone who is content to get up on your bed just to warm your feet and whom you can push off if he snores…
Then adopt a dog.
If you want someone who never criticizes what you do, doesn’t care if you are pretty or ugly, fat or thin, young or old, who acts as if every word you say is especially worthy of listening to, and loves you unconditionally, perpetually…
Then adopt a dog.
But, on the other hand, if you want someone who will never come when you call, ignores you totally when you come home, leaves hair all over the place, walks all over you, runs around all night and only comes home to eat and sleep, and acts as if your entire existence is solely to ensure his happiness…
Then adopt a cat!

Oh yes, I do appreciate our four kitties, but am definitely a doggie person. My two Afghans have watched many hours of football at the fields and lazing around on the bed or couch. I watch them following the quarterback and blockers and analyzing the plays and cheering when the good guys get touchdowns and bad guys get tackled. My dogs Greta and Audrey prefer football to romance movies, a very happy circumstance for us all.
Adoption rocks!
Yep…this is very true…..our humans are our servants!
Not all of that is completely true, I had a dog chew up my remote and they ALL think I am here just to serve them. They are also glad when I come home (so that I can dote on them)
