This bunch of viral photos has made its rounds in various formats over the past year or so, often with the header “Why Dogs Bite People.”
I have a tendency to look at some of them and think Now, really–that dog does not want to be a spider, but–heck–what do I know? Maybe all he does is dream about being a spider. I mean, hey–a lot of the pictures are pretty darn snuzzy and the dogs don’t seem to be too uncomfortable. Embarrassed perhaps, but not uncomfortable. Or?
What do you think? How do YOU rate the snuzziness of dogs in costume? Check these out and then leave a comment below.

I think that they like it but are being serious. I love that Yoda one!
Oh and the Collie one. I love all of them, but the Collie and Yoda one are my favorites.
These are ridiculous. Most of the animals in costumes don’t look very happy. If I couldn’t communicate, I wouldn’t want someone dressing me up like that. Now, if the dog or cat goes into the closet and wiggles into a costume and walks around like that, then that’s different. It is also extremely unlikely. Clothes are for humans. Except clothes that protect the animal, like boots for dogs who have to walk on rough surfaces, or a sweater for a short haired pet who gets cold a lot.
It doesn’t hurt the dog. How could it? Yes, it does embarrass them or so it seems. But there’s nothing wrong with puting a costume on for a picture and then taking it off. Or of having your dog wear one for Halloween or some other holiday.
Some dogs don’t like having their picture taken. Does that mean that we shouldn’t take pictures of them?
Who cares if I’ve seen some of them before. i could crack up over these once a day. Doggies love it I think. Moxie does. They gets tons of attention and that’s usually her favorite treat.
Most of them make me cringe with embarrassment for the pooches, so overall I would give a low snuzz rating. However, for some reason buried deep in my unconscious, I like a few: the two hotdogs, Yoda, and the group of Halloween ghosts.
