Yes, crows are brilliant. All the “Caw-caw-ing” is annoying, but they all turn up on trash day like a gang of safe crackers, open the trash barrels, peck through the green bags and have a crow buffet. That video is amazing, more like something I would expect from a chip. The video and Mary’s comment show that they have great reasoning powers, problem solving skills and resourcefulness beyond thievery from rubbish. We definitely underestimate animals!

I once read an essay called, “AreCrows Too Smart For Their Stations In Life?” I think this video answers that question… In Japan they have been videoed using car traffic to break open nuts for them to eat-going to get the nut meats during the red lights…
