Snuzz doesn’t exist if the cats and the dogs of the world can’t sink their choppers into a little grub every day, so thankfully Freekibble.com and Freekibblekat.com are doing what they can to help keep food in the dog and cat bowls in shelters run by the Humane Society of Central Oregon! Sound a little bit like what’s going on over at FreeRice.com? You’re right–it’s pretty much the same concept. Here’s a little more information about the program and its founder, 12-year-old Mimi Ausland:

Mimi Ausland, a 12 year old girl from Bend, Oregon, wanted to help feed the hungry dogs at her local animal shelter. “There are 10’s of thousands of dogs in animal shelters across the country, all needing to be fed a good meal.” Say hello to freekibble.com! And now it’s time to feed the cats too!

Freekibble.com’s primary mission is to provide good, healthy food to dogs and cats to those shelters who are working so hard to see that none of them go hungry – they need our help. We’ll continue to provide free kibble to the Humane Society of Central Oregon and now we’re expanding to add more shelters in need of free kibble. Furrytale Farms on Bainbridge Island is next!

Way to go, Mimi! Keep up the good work!

Now it’s your turn! All you need to do now is head on over to Freekibble.com and Freekibblekat.com and answer the daily trivia questions. For each answer (correct or not!) the site will provide 20 pieces of kibble to the animal shelters!
