That’s a red-eared slider. They like to be in water and terrified out of it. way to screw with your pet. this is like throwing a cat that can’t swim in a pond and calling it cute.

My girlfriend and I were walking along a country-road this spring, when we came across a turtle, happily sunning himself in the middle of the road.

I guess those cold blooded reptiles enjoy the hot warm pavement, and sunshine.

So we decided to usher him back to the swampy area off to the side of the road (in order to save his life!)

My girlfriend kept gently nudging him, until finally he (she?) got really ticked off at my girlfriend, hissed loudly, and then lumbered, obviously very annoyed, to the side of the road, where he stopped for a moment to look at us, and then disappeared into the murky water.

I was actually surprised by how fast the turtle could “lumber”… You always hear that turtles are slow, but it didn’t seem very slow to me. The turtles wasn’t fast like a cat… but still I think turtles can move faster than we give them credit for, when they have to.

(They sure do get annoyed however when you try to save their lives and interrupt their sun-siesta to get them out of the road!)

ya its red-eared slider….i have two of them….that both spend a great deal of time out of the water on their own accord….turtles breath oxygen and are quite capable of moving around out of water, cats have no gills and would drown in a pond….im failing to see the relevance there?…..i also have a rabbit….and now all i can think about is combining the two <3

Because I thought it looked a little bit like the rabbit was humping the turtle, and the word trick is a synonym (at least when referring to prostitutes) for a sexual partner. It’s a bit forced, I guess…
