I know all about the Wake Up Dude routine. Greta Garbo, my older Afghan Hound, handles such situations, as her niece, Audrey Hepburn, is off the hook because Greta is way too responsible. If I oversleep when it is time to go O-U-T (yes, Afghans can spell, and I am not making that up), Greta will locate one of my ears and bark directly into it: "BARK!" Rolling over and hiding under pillows and quilts is futile. Greta hops up and like digging up a bone, removes the pillows and bed clothes, and we must go out for a W-A-L-K. We have an Afghan friend who can also spell. Her owner works with the deaf and started signing to her husband about walks and such. That Afghan figured it out! Dumbest breed on Earth?
