An abandoned baby red panda has been adopted by a zookeeper’s tabby cat at the Artis Zoo in Amsterdam? No way!

Way.

Apparently this snuzzy survivor (there were two abandoned cubs, but the other one died) was simply taken in by the tabby cat, who happened to have just given birth to four kittens, after a conversation that went something like this:

Hey you hungry? You look hungry.
–Yeah, I could eat. And I’m a bit parched.
Check it out, honey, I got milk. And there’s plenty of it to go around.
–You sure?
Just get over here and start suckling.
–Wow. Thanks. Can I call you mommy?
Slow down, panda. Let’s take this one step at a time, OK?

At least that’s how I think it must have gone down.
