Hmmmm…

I’m actually not too sure about this thing here. Though I can imagine that during a disaster or when evacuation is necessary, it might be nice to simply have all your pets in… well, bags… I don’t know that I want to be the one carrying that bag around. The razor-sharp cat claws that I know would be trying to shred their way out of that thing in a heartbeat.

From an article on L.A. Unleashed:

Does this cat look happy? Maybe not. But he or she (we’re not sure) might be protected from disaster.

That’s what the creator of that orange mesh balloony thing called the EVACSAK thought when she had the brainstorm to create a carrier designed to evacuate small animals during a flood, fire, earthquake or other crisis.

Inventor Rebecca A. Rodriguez, an animal welfare advocate, hit upon the brainstorm while developing an evacuation plan for an animal shelter, she explains in an e-mail. She says it works for cats, small dogs, reptiles, rabbits, ferrets and rodents.

Again: Hmmmm…

That cat looks a little angry. They better not let it out of the bag yet. BOL

If an animal feels safe they will usually not attempt to “shred” their way out of their protective space.

The Evacsak is designed for emergency evacuation and transportation during rescue. The Evacsak is designed to be accessible which makes it faster and easier for you to gather your pet and reach safety.

Please feel free to visit the website and learn more about the EVACSAK.
