When the record-breaking heatwave hit Melbourne in 2009, both people and animals were struggling to survive the 120 degree heat. While humans could stay indoors with water and airconditioning, many of the indigenous animals were unable to cope with the heat on their own. Luckily the RSPCA and other animal advocacy groups (as well as generous individuals) were there to help keep the koalas and other animals hydrated–with snuzzy results!
