Both Goldendoodles and Portuguese Water Dogs have been mentioned as being in the running for the next dog to occupy the White House. Hmmm. Let’s see…

This is Milo, a Portuguese Water Dog in our dog community. Yep–perty kyoot.

And this is Maverick. Yes, Maverick. And he’s a Goldendoodle, a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. And yep, he’s perty kyoot, too.

What kind of dog do you think the Obamas should get? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Have an opinion about how they should get the dog (shelter, breeder, etc)? Pounce on over to our dog blog and let Horst know!

These are just a couple of the hilarious shots that are a part of Costume-Shopping 101 by Karen Nichols. If you’re still trying to figure out what you are going to do with your pet for Halloween, you need to read this super informative piece over at one of our other cool pet blogs The Cat’s Meow. It’s primarily written with cats in mind, but I found that a lot of the advice carries over into the doggie costume world as well.

Those were the words that were scribbled across my desk when I got to the office today. So, for those of you who were wondering why there were nothing but dog photos today, hey look–I just work here. I do what I’m told to do, when I’m told to do it. That way I’m not trying on any cement shoes, if you catch my drift.

This is Griff, Si and Mox. They’re in charge and they’re not afraid to throw their weight around. Especially the little one.

I took a little cruise through some of his stuff that he’s done for us so far and came up with this little sampling:

You can see more of these captioned shots over at the dog blog, and you can also see the great shots that Mark took at the Bay Area Pet Fair here. And be sure to check out his website to see his comprehensive range of photography.

Like what you see? Dogster and Catster members in the San Francisco area receive 10% off Mark’s standard photo sessions. Sa-weet! You can find out more about these sessions here.

This itsy bitsy came in to Dogster HQ today to show us all her perty little party dress. Turns out it was Frida’s (yes, this is she) birthday today so mommy dressed her up in her best little pertiness. She had two hats–a party hat and a sombero. Of course.

I didn’t ask how old she was. Ain’t polite to ask such things.

Happy Birthday, Frida!

I always get all whacked out when I see a dog and a cat actually enjoying hanging out or playing with each other. That’s probably because I grew up with cats and a dog who wanted absolutely nothing to do with each other. But Foxy, one of the big winners in The Other Dog Show at last weekend’s Bay Area Pet Fair, seems to get along just fine with her little feline friend Banx! Check out this Dogster Video Exclusive:

Thanks for joining Dogster, Foxy! We’re proud to have you running with the pack!
