These fantastic shots are a part of the photographic archive of the Zoological Society of London, which can be browsed in its entirety here. Some of the images in the collection date back to the late 19th century, and show how much the London Zoo has changed over the years.
The only thing that hasn’t changed? The snuzz factor–still very, very high.

I believe wholeheartedly that this shot is going to turn out to be very, very cute…

An abandoned baby red panda has been adopted by a zookeeper’s tabby cat at the Artis Zoo in Amsterdam? No way!
Way.
Apparently this snuzzy survivor (there were two abandoned cubs, but the other one died) was simply taken in by the tabby cat, who happened to have just given birth to four kittens, after a conversation that went something like this:
–Hey you hungry? You look hungry.
–Yeah, I could eat. And I’m a bit parched.
–Check it out, honey, I got milk. And there’s plenty of it to go around.
–You sure?
–Just get over here and start suckling.
–Wow. Thanks. Can I call you mommy?
–Slow down, panda. Let’s take this one step at a time, OK?
At least that’s how I think it must have gone down.

Pandas are sooo incredibly snuzzy, that often when I see pictures of them, I can’t help but say to myself, “Really, now, you little ball of cute and fluff… did you escape from a toy store? Are you really for real?” I mean look at these pix:

So now it’s just you and me that have batteries in, right?

Hey, can we talk?

Um, hellooo? What about me?

Panda pawty.

Hey just looking at it, man. Wasn’t gonna eat it, I swear.

I LOVE this railing! I mean LOVE this railing. Look, I love you, too, but THIS RAILING… WOW!

Yes, Virginia. These are my panda claws.
The folks over at YayPandas.com were checking out the Snuzz Factor today, so I hitched a ride on over there and guess what I found?
Snuzz galore!
