Okay, so it’s not today, it’s tomorrow, but there’s no harm in really starting to dive in to the Howlaween stuff today. Here are two that just popped into the Snuzzbox. Pretty fabulous, don’t you think?

Have you stumbled upon some really cool pet Halloween pictures this week? Want to share them with Snuzzy readers? Leave the URL in the comments for this post or send them on in, and I’ll post as many as I can over the Halloween weekend.
This is perhaps not the news you were looking for on a Wednesday morning, but I am unfortunately the bearer of really depressing news. In light of the financial turmoil that is afoot in the world today, the Irritating Revenue Service has decided that all U.S. pet owners (dog, cat, hamster, lizard, June Beetle, snake–the works) will be required to fill in a WK-9 every year when they submit their regular income tax forms. I know: Ree. Diculous.
I’ve included a screen shot of last year’s form here, but you can open a larger version here so that you can print it, fill it out and send it in.

From Boston.com’s The Big Picture:
In its brief lifespan of only 13 days, Hurricane Ike wreaked great deal of havoc. Affecting several countries including Cuba, Haiti, and the United States, Ike is blamed for approximately 114 deaths (74 in Haiti alone), and damages that are still being tallied, with estimates topping $10 billion. Many shoreline communities of Galveston, Texas were wiped from the map by the winds, storm surge and the walls of debris pushed along by Ike - though Galveston was spared the level of disaster it suffered in 1900.

Ike barreled into the densely populated Texas coast near Houston early September 13, 2008, bringing with it a wall of water and ferocious winds and rain that flooded large areas along the Gulf of Mexico and paralyzed the fourth-largest U.S. city. A few overheard statements from some of our snuzzy animal kingdom friends:

Go ahead and admit it–dogs aren’t the only animals that love sticking their heads out the window and letting that wind flap those cheeks around–you know you’re guilty of a little snout out the window action every now and then. I know I am. Thing is… when we do it–well, not so cute. But, as seen in the most recent episode of Ultra Kawaii, when our little pooch friends get their pawtomobile snuzz on… VERY cute! Enjoy–

As I previously posted here, when a furball does something that is generally thought to be human–like smiling, for example–I just get all freaked out. (Freaked out in a good way, of course. I only get freaked out in a bad way when they start doing things like smoking cigars and betting on the horses. But that’s another blog… I think it’s called Scuzzy…)
Anyhoo, quite a few smiling pets found their way into my SnuzzBox this week… Here are a few of the best:

And, okay, we’ve all seen this one before, but, hey–it’s Friday! Let’s get our frog on:

Got smiling snuzzy pet pix and want to share? Get ‘em to me!
It turns out I’m not going to be able to promise you that every snuzzy little entry that I post is going to be about pets. As you can see in this photo, even the hardworking executive is occasionally going to be captured in the snuzz by one of my top-dog reporters.
There’s essentially nothing funny about this picture. It’s just proof that taking a paws is not always easy to do.
I ran across a site called Laughing Ferret yesterday and found some super silly stuff. I’ve never considered having a little weasel-type critter as a pet, but now I’m rethinking that, if just for the entertainment value. Talk about snuzz, those little dudes got it going on!
Here are a couple vids that’ll crack your stuff up:
With Flickr video now painting the inner coils of the interwebs with 90 second videos, we’re shuuure to find some good snuzz to pass on to you. What makes this format super duper is that they’re short and sugar sweet, which means that the rodent, feline, canine, avian and reptilian members of the Pet Actors Guild will be able to get their funnies out to us in no time!
A couple groovy ones that I’ve found so far are I think rats are cute when they eat things and Gus playing fetch. (Click on the links if you don’t see the embedded vids below.)
