IRS Now Requiring Pet Tax Returns

This is perhaps not the news you were looking for on a Wednesday morning, but I am unfortunately the bearer of really depressing news. In light of the financial turmoil that is afoot in the world today, the Irritating Revenue Service has decided that all U.S. pet owners (dog, cat, hamster, lizard, June Beetle, snake–the works) will be required to fill in a WK-9 every year when they submit their regular income tax forms. I know: Ree. Diculous.

I’ve included a screen shot of last year’s form here, but you can open a larger version here so that you can print it, fill it out and send it in.
