Found this one over at Cleveland.com, with the caption Only a Cleveland cat can take on this kind of snow. Cool shot!

Whether you’re getting some crazy snowstorm weather this week or just a little annoying rain, you’re much better off wearing a hat this week. Wear a Hat Even if You Have to Make It Yourself Week is brought to you by me and this guy:

If anybody know who this dog is, or who does his hats, please let me know!

Hey there, hi there, ho ho ho there, everybody… I just got back from a week-long trip to the Icehotel in JukkasjÀrvi, Sweden. Cold, you ask? Between -20C(-4F) and -30C(-22F) every day. ‘Tis nice to be home in SF, where it’s wet, but comparatively warm…

What on earth was I doing way up there, high above the Arctic Circle? Good question. To make a long story short (and trust me–it is a LONG story), I write for the Icehotel occasionally and have collaborated with this guy for the past few years to make a “yearbook” for the icy hotel, showing off the art and artists that make the place what it is. So I was up there again to check it out and take a few notes. (You can see parts of the previous design books here and here.)

But since I can’t really go anywhere these days without my Snuzz Detector going off, I snapped up a few shots of some dogsledding stars when I was there. Unfortunately, it’s pretty dark up there this time of year, so my photos were nothing to snuzz home about, so I asked my good friend and photographer Ben Nilsson if I could use a few of his shots from last year. These shots should help to get your winter cheer up and at ‘em, if it isn’t already. It is worth mentioning that the sled dogs up there are special, super loving creatures. These dogs LOVE to run and really have a great time showing people around this amazing Winter Wonderland. Enjoy!

I’m heading back to sunny California tomorrow, after a week of freezing up here at this place, but in case I miss the snow once I get back, I can always bundle up and watch these little guys frolic around in the powdery white stuff:

While it may be a while before you see this adorable Basset Hound competing in the doggy downhills, Norman sure does have what it takes when it comes down to plowing his way through the snow from point A to point B. Set to the Vangelis Chariots of Fire theme song, this one definitely says: Hey, man, if I can do it, so can you.

It’s not the penquin with the cymbals that’s funny in this one.

It’s the one in the background with the handbag.

penquins wid cymbals and handbags

But of course.
