Many howls, barks and yowls! My first Afghan Hound, Ralphie, was fabulous apart from refusing to be brushed. He was my best friend for 14 years. Greta Garbo, another Afghan, has been simply wonderful. She just turned 8. I got her half sister, Audrey Hepburn, who is now 6. She took me four years to tame. She ate many dozens of hard cover books and anything else she could find. I was patient. She chewed off much of the back cover of my favorite black leather Bible. I was upset, but did not strangle her. She ate many other things and pissed on many expensive Oriental carpets that wound up on the curb on trash day. Still, I did not strangle her. She is very pretty and makes cute faces. She smooshes her paws together in order to make a pillow, then rests her chin on top. Who could not love such a fiend? That dog training photo should be entitled “Audrey.”
